Dad's Advice to son #1

1. Do it yourself whenever you can do it.

It's very important to learn to do things and you should practice the theory by try to do it your self. No matter what is the things, from household chores to fixing tap, learn the task and try to do it your self.

By doing thing by your self, you may save your time and money and also build your self confidence.

What you should to know before start do things your self:

1. Define the task properly
2. Learn about the task
3. SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threats)
4. Get proper tools to get this done
5. Get advice if needed
6. If you confident, then go ahead
7. If failed to complete it, don't give up.. Keep try..

Good luck.

Air Asia Don't Have Options

It's almost gonna be one month after MH370 missing while on the way to China from KLIA. Last two days another leading airline AIR ASIA on hot seat and been forced to move its services from LCCT to KLIA2.

On other hand,  AIR ASIA put dove request to be full will by government before make its services available at KLIA2. I'm personally believe it is reasonable to have a dialog between AIR ASIA and also other low cost carrier who gonna use that facility later on.
Of course some of the request are too much to be full filled, but hope government will facilitate this low cost carrier seems,  they are most prominent airline in Malaysia and at world level.

Another reason why I support AIR ASIA is because they help me and most of Malaysian fly for the first time.

Is it wrong to worry about safety aspects while you need to shift your business to new place? That's what the Chief Executive of Air Asia, Aireen Omar said. "There are many concerns, especially on functionality, safety and security of KLIA2."

I'm still waiting for the comments by Tan Sri Tony Fernandez about this issues.

While local media and government,  keep pushing Air Asia, why we don't look into the issues like manufacturing defects and how to rectify that. We build this airport with RM4 billion and request airline service providers to operate with defects?

Rising cost of living in Malaysia

I believe the rising cost of living in Malaysia is the most commonly discussed topics today since the last general election. Almost all consumer products and services are  in the trend  of rising prices, despite  the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister urging  the retailers not to increase the  prices unnecessarily.

The government earlier materialized Kedai Rakyat 1 Malaysia to reduce burden of people whereby most of the common households can be purchased with lower / affordable prices here.  However, it's not an ultimate solution for the people.

Speaking about the price of food in Malaysia, there is a dramatic price increase, almost throughout the nation. Peoples living in major cities feel the burden most as the total living cost rises up as well. A standard residential apartment that can be  rented for RM 600-700 three years ago, will cost you now  almost double of it.

I was triggered after reading today's newspaper,  where Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism, Minister Datuk Hasan Malek said cooperatives in Malaysia are able to reduce prices increase impact and able to help reduce people's burden. It is certainly a great stunt to control the price hike.

Anyone has read about the theory "invisible hands" by Adam Smith will agree with this point that, consumer have better power than government in controlling the  product prices. Though I agree with  "invisible hands" and "its" capability to control product price, but there is something limiting ‘its’ capability  in controlling the price hike trend.  I agree with Adam Smith and his theory for all luxury items, but not for basic human needs. I can live without a smart phone and a luxury car, but how about food and a place to stay?

I believe, the government has to play the authority  role to ensure the public  are not suffering for their basic needs. So don't fully put the responsibility on cooperatives and public. Price increase is something un-avoidable, but still be manageable.

Anyone having different thoughts from me?
